Washington, D.C.- RUN, EVERYBODY, RUN. THE END APPROACHES! SUPREME COURT JUSTICE CLARENCE THOMAS FINALLY SAID SOMETHING. Start praying to the only god you still believe in because what was up now is down and what was silent now is loud. After a decade of not speaking at the Supreme Court, Justice Clarence Thomas decided to ask a few questions during a gun rights case the Court is currently deliberating on. This has been the first time Thomas has spoken in the courtroom since February 22, 2006. And like a total baller, he decided to break his whole "I never speak" act with four simple words "Ms. Eisenstein [an assistant US solicitor general], one question." That's how you come out of retirement, or whatever we could classify self-imposed silence as, minimalist AF. This could be the beginning of a new era of the Court, what with the death of Justice Antonin Scalia and now a seemingly more active member of the Court. For all we know, Clarence Thomas will be doing stand-up comedy routines by mid-March or giving TED talks next week. We really hope he chooses to do one about the beauty of silence or what it's like being a close-minded judge in an increasingly tolerant America. He could wax poetic about his favorite music albums, or give play-by-play analysis of Washington Wizards' games. We can only hope that he won't drop back into another decade of silence.
